Rhythmic Protection on East and West Facades: Vertical Sun Breakers

On east and west facades—where the sun stays close to the horizon during sunrise and sunset (arriving at a low, horizontal angle)—horizontal shading devices may be insufficient. In these cases, SACCIO Vertical Louver Systems come into play. Vertical profiles installed perpendicular to the facade or at a specific angle effectively block sunlight coming from the sides.

Beyond their technical function, vertical louvers give the building a strong architectural character. By arranging profiles at different depths and spacing, it is possible to create a “barcode” effect or a flowing rhythmic pattern on the facade. At SACCIO, we manufacture rigid and aesthetic vertical profiles that do not flex even across wide spans. These systems also create a visual illusion that makes the building appear taller and more imposing.
